Human rights, freedom of religion, the enlightenment and human rationalism have a history, which is essential to understand if we are to appreciate our present world and culture. ‘Life in the past lane’ examines the growth, conflicts, major figures and events of the church from Acts onwards and their impact on the present day.

By the end of this unit, students will be able to:

  • describe significant events that have changed the course of history over the past 2000 years for better or for worse
  • appreciate the influence of the lives and careers of certain key individuals in the history of the church
  • apply lessons learned.

Duration

10 lessons offering at least 1-2 terms’ worth of work.
