In The Things That Make For Peace, Reg Piper digs deeply into all 24 chapters of Luke’s Gospel, to reveal the purposeful journey Jesus undertook to complete his earthly mission. As readers see Jesus through Luke’s eyes, they also come to see many facets of this disciple—a man who was a devoted companion to Paul on his missionary travels both as an apostle and a prisoner, a dear doctor friend and a fellow worker in the proclaiming the gospel; an eloquent writer who teaches us more about Jesus, the Great Physician of the soul. These daily reflections cover 40 days—helpful in the Lent period leading up to Easter, but effective any time of the year. Questions for group discussion or personal reflection, as well as sermon outlines, are also included.
