(For years 9–11 | 15 lessons)
A systematic study of the major ethical frameworks, this unit helps students become reflective and intentional in their ethical and moral decisions. Extremely practical, it examines numerous issues from the global to the personal.
How does The Good, the Bad and the Ethical fit within a broader RE program?
The higher order thinking skills required to identify and analyse one’s motives and prejudices are a valuable tool in many senior subjects. Additionally, a sound ethical framework is crucial for young men and women as they negotiate their way through life. Ethics infiltrates all of life; it is an issue of identity and purpose. Discerning the best way for life (good and bad, right and wrong) is a reflection of the people we wish to be and our understanding of God. We navigate life best when we take the time to consider (and re-consider) our ethics.
