Suffering is a topic Christians and humanity have struggled with through the ages, and raises questions about the existence of God, his power and his love.
Why would an all-powerful God not intervene to prevent children from dying? If God is loving and caring why doesn’t he stop murders, poverty and pain? Why does God allow one to feel lonely, hurt or afraid?
There are no easy answers to these questions, nor are we served by simplistic responses to very real and troubling issues.
This resource focuses on the book of Job and the cross of Jesus in presenting a sensitive and biblically informed treatment of the problem of suffering. It’s recommended to be used in conjunction with John Dickson’s book of the same name (sold separately).
