(For years 7–9 | 7 lessons)
Our age is awash with throwaway memes, ‘heartwarming’ homilies and ‘life-changing’ advice. Even a cursory look at Facebook or Instagram shows that many search for meaning and guidance beyond themselves. Something in us tells us there must be more to life.
Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 5–7 cuts us deeper and lifts us higher than we could ever imagine. Here are some of the most challenging, inspiring, encouraging and profound words ever uttered. Jesus knows the human condition and he challenges our relationships, our major life choices and even our view of ourselves like no other. Moreover, he gives us a meaning and purpose that, left to our own devices, we never could have dreamed of.
